Skipper's log: Miranda Merron (France), Campagne de France (IMOCA)

Proper trade wind streets of clouds! Gybing practice yesterday afternoon
and part of the night, partly because of the wind direction, partly to to
try to avoid the 100+ mile wind shadow of the Canary Islands. Stunning
clear night which was not in the slightest bit appreciated by the crew due
to the erratic autopilot. Its driving skills leave quite a lot to be
desired anyway, and sometimes it starts snaking for no reason, which is very
unnerving when sailing downwind, especially in the middle of the night!
After nearly crash-gybing the boat several times, its humour seems to have
improved for the time being.
On the domestic front, time to heat bottles of water in the sun for a
shower on deck. The luxury of having a watermaker.
