The ideal scenario. You exit the Channel on southerly winds and shortly after Ushant the winds shifts to NW and carries you to the Canaries and the trade winds. This is what it seem to happen although there was a good part of the night between the 6th and the 7th of tiring beating upwind before the shift to NW.
The day was good but we had a serious problem with the engine that would not start. So alternatively we have been frantically in contact through our shore team with our mechanic Meca Diesel in Lorient that we thank for the assistance. In the end we managed to restart the engine and therefore the dreaded stop at La Coruna should not be necessary. In all this we have lost the scheduled call from the Race Committee.
We even tried to call the number back but we were not successful. Apologies
Tomorrow we will concentrate on racing but we are happy to be in the pack again.
