Technical stop in Brest for V and B - Mayenne

Maxime Sorel and Guillaume Le Brec have noticed a significant technical problem with the port outrigger* shroud on their 2007 VPLP – Verdier-designed boat. After a discussion with their technical team, the duo have decided to make their way to Brest to try to repair the shroud. “It's a thing that normally doesn’t happen because it's the leeward shroud that is damaged," Sorel, the skipper from Cancale said. “We have no choice but to stop and repair it. According to the builders, there is too much risk of a risk of dismasting. My whole team is mobilising to find a solution to change the shroud.” V and B - Mayenne had made a good start his Transat Jacques Vabre Normandie Le Havre and was in the race when this technical problem happened. Maxime and Guillaume are expected in Brest around 13:00 UTC.
